Steven Lester Bybee

Passed away in Santa Rosa on April 21, 2021 at the age of 68 years after a brave battle with cancer.  Devoted son of Viola Bybee Mattioli and the late Robert L. Bybee.  Adored grandson of the late Rosa (Aveni) and James Pisani; and Elva and Lester Bybee.  Beloved brother of Robert M. Bybee (Susan).  Cherished uncle of Jennifer Mihojevich (Dave) and Elizabeth “Rosie” Shea (Dennis).  Treasured great-uncle of Casey, Tyler, Molly, William, and Brody.  Loving nephew of the late Jennie Parkison, Carmela Weiler (Bill), and August Pisani (Angela).  Dear cousin of William Weiler (Evie) and the late Richard Weiler.  Survived by numerous other family members and friends.

Steven was born in San Francisco on January 18, 1953 to Viola (Pisani) and Robert Bybee.  He graduated from Capuchino High School and attended junior college.  Steve suffered a traumatic injury at the age of 25, and after this, the family moved to Santa Rosa. Following this injury, Steven and his mother traveled extensively throughout Europe.  Steve was a member of the Redwood Chapter Knights of Columbus and the Italian Club in Santa Rosa.  Above all, he loved his family and friends.  Steve was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Visitation on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, 4321 Sonoma Hwy., Santa Rosa.  The Committal Services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Italian Cemetery Skylight Mausoleum, 540 F St., Colma with entombment to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospice.
