Sharon Hallett Obituary

Sharon Lee (Sherri) Hallett entered eternal rest from her home on November 1, 2025, at the age of 63 following an eight-month battle with cancer. Sherri was born on October 22, 1962, in Eureka California to Patricia Ann Godfrey and Gary Gene Godfrey. She married her loving husband, Michael Hallett, on March 29, 1984, nearly 42 years ago, and together raised two sons Adam and Cory Hallett.

Sherri worked in retail for several years before becoming a dedicated professional after obtaining a degree in 1995 from Empire Business College in Santa Rosa, California. Following graduation, she worked front office jobs, and was later employed as an administrative assistant, then as an executive assistant with Tavelli Co. Receivables Management Company, accumulating 30 years of experience in an office environment since college.

Sherri will be remembered by coworkers, by her many friends, and by family as consistently demonstrating her kindness and caring nature through thoughtful actions and remarkable generosity toward others. Her heart overflowed with such unbounded kindness that an outpouring of love radiated from her in every interaction.

She is survived by her devoted, loving husband Michael Hallett, her loving sons Adam (Allyson) and Cory (Alexandra) Hallett, and two grandchildren Riley and Simon. She leaves behind her sister Sandy Lake (Ralph), brother Bobby Harris, nephew Talon Barnhart, niece Mikayla (Harris) Serrano, and many cousins. Sherri was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Ann Jackson Harris, and her father Gary Godfrey.

A memorial service / celebration of life will be held at Crosspoint Community Church,1577 Guerneville Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, on Saturday December 6th at 1:30 PM

From Mike, Sherri's husband:

Embracing every minute, Sherri lived life with palpable zeal. She found each day to be a blessing. She found much happiness in simple pleasures and had an infectious optimism all the way to her final days on this earth. Christmas season was Sherri's favorite time of year, with being festive and giving to others her greatest joy. She was an active member at Crosspoint Community Church, formerly Bethel Baptist, and loved caring for babies and toddlers as evidenced by her being a favorite at the church nursery where she often volunteered her services.
Sherri highly cherished family gatherings loved her grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed holiday events. She was always the life of the party in the sense of being the joyful, most festive host who ensured everyone had a fun, memorable time with her games and contests.

Sherri's many interests included bowling in leagues, watching major league baseball on television and going to games in person as an avid San Francisco Giants fan. She loved taking annual one-or-two-week road trips with her husband, often to the great outdoors where she enjoyed beaches, camping, swimming, hiking, and visiting national and state parks.

She especially valued her annual two-day Monterey Christian Women’s Retreat because she shared the experience and deep connection with her three dearest friends Jeanne Browne, Nancy Helzer, and Catherine Bickel of Santa Rosa. Sherri had so many friends who loved her. She enjoyed all the times she was able to interact with them.

The sport of bowling was a passion. In fact, she met her husband (Mike) while bowling in a league in downtown Eureka. Sherri had so much fun in her leagues and people bowling around her were often delighted in watching her antics when she achieved a strike, made a spare or picked up a split. She made many friends while participating in the sport.

Bowling in local and out of town tournaments and traveling to various bowling venues gave Sherri much enjoyment. She was a member and president of a local bowling match club, and also a member of the Rohnert Park-Petaluma 500 Club. Sherri competed in non-scratch bowling events, would win the elusive first-place title here and there, and on several occasions did finish within the top 25% of tournament participants. One of her most remarkable accomplishments occurred during a tournament at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada when Sherri bowled a no-tap perfect 300 game.

Her other claim to fame was in the year 2015 as a front row spectator with Mike at the PBA World Series of Bowling in Reno on the ESPN televised 2015 PBA Cheetah Championships. They each appeared numerous times throughout the telecast directly behind the eventual tournament winner. Formal photos of the winner later appeared in the nationally distributed Bowlers Journal Magazine, and Sherri was clearly depicted in the photo by coincidence due to the location of her seating. She always playfully boasted that she had made the cut in Bowlers Journal Magazine.

Sherri was also passionate about San Francisco Giants Baseball. When attending games at the ballpark Sherri would dress to the hilt head to toe in Giants’ attire. Even at her own home during the Giants' three World Series telecasts she donned her Giants gear and cheered loudly whenever something good happened with the team play.

These snippets are only a tiny sample of what made Sherri so much fun. She loved going to Reno, attending live country band and Christian band concerts, and having “girls nights” where she and her besties filled the air with laughter.

That laughter she shared and the joy she brought to every moment will remain a bright, enduring reminder of her spirit, ensuring the fun she embodied continues to live on in all our hearts. As we grieve the loss of her presence, we will forever cherish the extraordinary legacy of love and light Sherri leaves behind, holding her memory close until we meet again.
