Robert Unciano Obituary

Robert “Bob” Unciano

February 19, 1946 - October 19, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved S.O.B., Sweet Ol’ Bob. A lifelong Sonoma County resident, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and respected business owner, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and close friends.

Bob was born in Santa Rosa, CA, one of 6 children born to Alicia Rodriquez and Froilan Unciano, Mexican and Filipino immigrants. For over 45 years, Bob ran a successful flooring business, earning the trust and admiration of his community through his dedication, integrity, and tireless work ethic. Many will remember him for his quiet strength, as well as being an honest and generous family man that loved to camp, stargaze, work in the garden, and play cards & horseshoes. He was also known for being a loyal and supportive friend who could always be counted on for a good laugh over whiskey and charcuterie.

Not only did Bob instill in his children the importance of love and laughter, he gave them a strong spiritual compass. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he found great purpose in sharing the hope of God’s Kingdom, and the assurance of resurrection to life in a restored paradise on Earth. His integrity and compassion left a meaningful legacy among his family and all who knew him. While we shall miss him, we draw great comfort from the words of Revelation 21;4, “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” We eagerly await the time when we may be reunited with him in the promised new world.

Bob leaves behind his wife of nearly 38 years, Ruthie Unciano; his two sons - Michael (Lisa) Unciano & Dan (Missy) Unciano, his four daughters - Julia (Carl) Smith, Sarah Lund, Amber Wood & Nicole (Alex) Valadez, and much-loved niece - turned bonus daughter, Erica (Beau) Lessnau. Bob was dearly loved by his 13 grandchildren - Michael, Kyle, Jenna, Dillon, Quincy, Taylor, Haile, Olivia, Roman, Sydney, Froilan, Reghan, & Penelope, 2 great grandsons - Kieran & Benjamin, and countless nieces, nephews and friends.

The Unciano family invites all to attend a memorial for Bob, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 4pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 27100 Dutcher Creek Road, Cloverdale, CA.
