Ray Allen Cooper Sr. - Died February 26, 2007 at home surrounded by his wife, Dodie and remaining two sons, Ray Jr. and Alvin. He is predeceased by his son, Destin Joseph. He leaves his grandchildren, Kevin Cooper and Jennifer Lee (Ray), Tessa and Eustacia (Alvin and Jill). He has 6 living siblings, Wanda Glenn, Mary Stahl, Gerald Cooper, Donald Cooper, Kathy May and Judy Ulrich.
He had a long and rewarding career in the Air Force, retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. During his career, he served in Viet Nam and Desert Storm, earning many commendations.
His heart was closest with his family even though separated much of the time. His last two years were spent in a close and joyful reunion with his family. Ray and Dodie remarried for the third time on October 18, 2006. He was a gentle soul and deeply loved. Ray was born in New Mexico and was educated in Petaluma City Schools.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Monday, March 5, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia Ave. and Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary. Interment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefers memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
