Phillip Lynn Pew
1941 – 2025
Rohnert Park, CA – Phillip Lynn Pew, 84, died peacefully at his home recently, with his wife of 59 ½ years by his side. Lynn, as he was most commonly known as, was born in Pekin, Illinois on January 22, 1941, the only son of Merle Pew and June Wagner. He graduated from Milliken University and served two years in the Army at Westpoint (1966-1968). He joined General Motors (GM) where he spent the entirety of his career as a sales engineer and executive.
When he wasn’t working on cars for his job, you could find him in the garage tinkering under the hood, welding new frames, or just dreaming about cars. He was well known for his car knowledge and enjoyed connecting friends and strangers alike to find their perfect car match. After he retired, he shared this love on his blog, PewsPlace, connecting with other car lovers all around the world.
He and his wife, Jane (Jorgensen) traveled all over through his work at GM and created many wonderful adventures with friends going to car shows, going on rod runs with the Back Road Boys in Simi Valley, or driving Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in whatever hot rod he had in the garage while living in Laguna Niguel.
Lynn was always quick to provide a smile and a warm welcome. That smile grew bigger anytime he talked about his wife, children and grandchildren (and of course hot rods!) He worked hard to provide a wonderful life for his family and lived by the motto of “No Bad Days.”
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Jorgensen), son Chris Pew, daughter-in-law Nannette Mitchell, grandson Sydney and granddaughter Izzy, “#1 daughter” Sarah Pew, son-in-law Paul Blair, and step-sister, Kim Jones, step-brother, Alan Downs, and the extended Jorgensen family including David and Cheryl Jorgensen, Brenda Jorgensen, Fred and Linda Jorgensen, Andy and Mimi Jorgensen, Joyce and Emmett Monahan, Linda and Bill Graeff, Mary and Dick Komarek and many nieces and nephews.
Per his request, there will be no funeral service or memorial. The family would like to thank everyone for the support they have received over the past weeks and months. Lynn was so loved and admired by so many people in all walks of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s name to Providence Hospice Sonoma County who provided such great care for Lynn in his final days. Donations are accepted online, by phone (707-568-1094) or by mail at Memorial Hospice, 439 College Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401.
