In Loving Memory of Patrica Louise Davis Clark

Patricia Davis was born on October 14,1940 in Corsicana, Texas to Mr. Jefferson Davis and Mrs. Mary Jane Davis.  She is survived by her sisters Annetta, Beverly, and Anna; brother Greg; children Ron, Kelli and Kwame; grandchildren Mercedes and Siobhan; and numerous loving nieces and nephews, and extended family members.  Patricia is proceeded in death by, brother Jeff, sister Betty and loving grandson Asante. 

After earning her teaching credentials in Elementary Education from Texas Southern University, in Houston Texas, Pat set her sights on California. In 1963, Pat ventured west to California, settling in Santa Rosa and marrying John W. Clark.

In 1969 as a teacher-director she played a pivotal role implementing the first Head Start Program in Windsor, California.  Her passion for early childhood education and development led her to become the Education Coordinator for Sonoma County Head Start, but soon realized she missed being in the classroom, teaching students, working with parents, and mentoring future educators.

Patrica landed a job at South Park Elementary (SRCS) and never looked back. She later became a beloved teacher at Brook Hill Elementary School where she dedicated 33 years (1972-2004) to shaping young lives.  Beyond the classroom Pat never tired of learning and furthering her education.  She was a community activist, civil rights leader, story- teller, feminist, youth softball coach, and a staunch advocate for children of all colors.

A devoted single mother of three, Patricia's life was a testament to resilience and determination.  She was a long-time member of the Martin Luther King Committee and was Camp Coordinator for Campfire Boys and Girls of America inspiring countless lives.  Her unwavering commitment to education, equality, and community upliftment left an indelible mark on all who knew her.  Patrica's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues loved ones and the many young lives she impacted.  She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
