SANTA ROSA, CA – Mary Lou (Etcheberry) Wiesner of Santa Rosa (age 93) with prior homes in Saratoga CA and Park Ridge NJ, passed away peacefully at home on April 14 with family members present. She is pre-deceased by her husband Arthur in 2016, her high school sweetheart from Park Ridge. They were married there in 1953, and built their first home together.
Mary Lou was a devoted mother to Michele (Glenn) and Craig (Julie), cherished grandmother to Marjorie (Austin), Victoria (Bryan), Alyssa (Jordan), Baelei and Caiti (Austin), and “Gigi” to great grandsons Carson and Cooper. Family lived nearby in Santa Rosa, as well as in Gilroy, Paso Robles and Helena, MT. Her passion was spending time with her family and friends.
Mary Lou earned her RN license from Hackensack (NJ) Hospital Nursing School in 1953, starting a lifelong devotion to the nursing profession. She maintained an active license throughout her life and was most recently a pediatric nurse in Santa Rosa, following a similar position in Los Gatos, CA.
Although chronic knee pain troubled her in recent years, she lived a largely independent life in Santa Rosa’s Oakmont community, able to attend family gatherings and celebrations of all types in Santa Rosa, San Jose, Gilroy, Paso Robles and Helena.
A graveside service will be held at Santa Rosa Memorial Park on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 AM. Donations in Mary Lou’s memory may be made to the California Nurses Honor Guard.
