It is with sadness that the family of Lorena Frances (Aiken) Faber shares her passing on June 10, 2025. Lorena Frances was born in Rifle, Colorado in 1936. She was named after her two grandmothers and went by both names at different stages of her life. Her family and childhood friends called her Frances. Later, as an adult and working at AT&T, she started going by Lorena. The Aiken family eventually settled in El Cajon, California, where Lorena Frances attended Grossmont High school with David and Glen Moore, two uncles who were like brothers to her. After graduating, Lorena moved to Marin County to help her favorite aunt, Ila Smith, for a short time. She then moved to a guest house in San Francisco where she met her future husband, Robert (Bob) Faber. Years later, she enjoyed recounting many happy memories of these days, including those times when she prepared meals in her popcorn popper to make her funds last. Bob and Lorena married in 1956 and eventually settled in Santa Rosa. They had three children, Belinda (Lindy), Hugh, and Julie.
Lorena was very creative and had many hobbies and would tackle almost any home repair/ DIY project. One of her favorite hobbies was quilting, but the real joy of her life was her four grandsons (Tanner Faber, Daniel Ramirez, David Ramirez, and Mason Faber). She loved spending time with them, taking them to the beach and on other adventures, and in general indulging them in every way possible.
She spent the final years of her life living with Alzheimer’s and frequently displayed incredible courage and a surprising amount of humor during these days. We are very thankful for the wonderful care that she received from Joy and Jhon, and their staff at Shilo Green Manor residential care home.
Lorena is survived by her children Lindy (Ron), Hugh (Stacey), and Julie, her four grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and her sisters, Elaine and Carol.
