Karen Huntington, 80, of Healdsburg, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, while on vacation with her loving partner, George Dutton. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
Karen was born in Omaha on December 18, 1945, to Ruth and Woodrow Johnson. She spent her formative years in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Billings, Montana. She dedicated her life to her family, dear friends, church community, gardening, and her passion for the Minnesota Vikings. Her loving spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her partner, George Dutton; her children, Katie Vandemark, George Vandemark, Jeff LaSeur, Stephanie LaSeur, Tim Huntington, and Toni Mathes; her cherished grandchildren, Alan LaSeur, Ashley Huntington, Austin Huntington, Elsa Vandemark, Rebecca LaSeur, Neal Vandemark, Claire LaSeur, and Ella LaSeur; her sisters, Kristen Johnson and Margaret Davenport; her niece, Sofie Johnson; and her in-laws, Dixine and Dan Stockton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Ruth Johnson; her first husband, Jerold LaSeur; and her second husband, Bryan Huntington.
Karen raised her children in Mankato, Minnesota and Billings, Montana. She later lived in Wilsonville, Oregon and Hayden Lake, Idaho before moving to Pullman, Washington to be closer to family.
Karen spent the last two years of her life with her partner, George. Although their time together was brief, they found a deep connection and great joy in many shared interests. In every community Karen called home, she was the gravitational force that brought family and friends together. Her deep devotion to her family naturally extended into service to others through her work as a Stephen Minister and as an elder in the Presbyterian Church. Through her faith, compassion, and generosity, she touched countless lives and was deeply loved by many.
A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Healdsburg Community Church. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Healdsburg Community Church (1100 University Ave., Healdsburg, CA 95448).
