Jesse Almos, a beloved resident of Santa Rosa, California, passed away on July 21st, 2024, at the age of 49. Born March 31st, 1975, to David and Patricia Almos in Palm Springs, California, Jesse’s life was a testament to his passion for the outdoors, creativity in his craftsmanship, and unwavering love for his family and friends who were cornerstones of his life.
From a young age, Jesse understood the value of hard work and found immense pride in building furniture and creating useful items for his loved ones. After attending Santa Rosa High School, he dedicated nearly two decades of his life to heavy equipment operating at All Phase Excavating. At 35, Jesse founded Sonoma Woodworks, where he transformed reclaimed wood from across Sonoma County into stunning pieces of furniture and home decor. Each piece bore part of his heart and soul, leaving an indelible mark on all who acquired and admired his work.
In fatherhood, however, Jesse found his deepest happiness and purpose when his son Bennett was born in 2014. Jesse laid strong roots in Rincon Valley, where he eventually purchased property and was planning a life together with his beloved partner, Kayla, her son Matteo, and Bennett.
Jesse’s love for the outdoors was prolific. Whether fishing, hunting, biking, gardening, or playing ball with Bennett, he embraced nature as a way of life. He truly thrived on his property and took great joy in sharing it with family and friends.
Jesse’s impact on the community extended beyond his beautiful craftsmanship. He was a friend to all, offering shoulders to cry on, helping hands, and legendary hugs. Jesse was always the life of the party; the loyal tender of campfires and BBQ pits; the four-wheeling, dirt-seeking daredevil; the first one ready for an adventure; and the great dreamer of simpler days spent in the mountains or by a body of water with those he loved. Jesse lived big, played hard, and loved deeply. While his story was cut far too short, his kindness, contagious laughter, silly sayings, and wild, fun-loving spirit, will echo through our stories and memories for many campfires to come.
Jesse is survived by his son, mother, aunt, sister, brother, nephew, and adoring nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Rincon Valley Grange on Friday, August 16th, 2024, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Jesse Almos Trust for future support of Bennett’s needs and education, or by visiting https://gofund.me/147f7145.
