Eve Marcucci, beloved mother, passed away peacefully on April 30th at her home in Santa Rosa, CA. Born September 10, 1920 in Madera CA, the youngest of a brother and two sisters. Raised on a ranch in Madera by her parents. Her father died when she was two years old. Both parents immigrated to this country from Italy. She attended Howard Elementary. In her teens, she went to live with her aunt and uncle in San Rafael. She eventually moved to Santa Rosa where she met her husband to be, Paul Marcucci Jr. After marrying, they lived at the Palms Hut in El Verano where Paul worked as a musician playing the organ and other instruments. After a few months they purchased the six acre property next door with a bar and restaurant ironically named “Pauls”. They eventually added a swimming pool which was opened to the public and also served as a private facility to different ethnic clubs from out of town. There were also cabin rental facilities by week or month. Husbands would drop their families off and return to join them for the weekends. The Sonoma Little League used and maintained the property for $1 a year. They were there for fifty years. Eve’s Daughter and Son-in-Law took her for the opening games for several years to enjoy the happy sounds of the children and crowd. She was part of the first group of people to walk across the opening of the historic Golden Gate Bridge. Home making and family was very dear to her heart. She loved music, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed preserving various canned fruits through the years. Eve loved going to Reno through the years, where she was extremely lucky at the gambling tables and enjoyed shows at the resorts there. She’d love to watch the wildlife from her window at home as deer came to graze in the backyard. Eve’s daughter, Yvonne and Son-in-law, Frenchy (Roland) Thibault moved her twenty years ago to Oakmont to be close to them. She had a full and rich life in her 103 years filled with family and friends. The family invites you to a time of visitation at Lafferty and Smith Colonial Chapel on May 15th from 11am to 5pm, and a vigil service at 3pm. Eve is survived by her daughter, Yvonne and her husband, Roland Thibault. She lost a daughter, Paulyn at age 3 years old. Her love and devotion to family will be forever remembered and cherished by those that knew her. A big hug to the Oakmont Bus Driver who stopped several times a day to wave to her in the window. Our heartfelt gratitude for the excellent and loving care of her caregivers; Elena, Cora, Ana, Fatima, and Millie. Also, for the dedication and compassion from all at Anchor Health Hospice.
