Albert Frank "Al" Carey - Al Carey passed away at his Petaluma home on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Helen Carey. Loving father of Carl and Marcia Carey of Novato and Jeanne and Dennis Johnson of North Conway, NH. Adored grandfather of Marc Johnson of NH, Lisa Korzeniowski of NY, Ian Johnson of NH, Christina Carey of San Rafael, CA, Sarah Page of NH and Julia Carey of Novato, CA. Great-grandfather of nine.
He was a devout parishioner of the Open Door Christian Church in Petaluma and enjoyed helping to maintain the church. Al was a proud Marine who served during WWII in the Marianas Islands in Guam, Bougainville and was heading for Iwo Jima when he was injured. He moved to Petaluma 22 years ago and was one of the oldest members at the Redwood Health Club.
