After suffering more than a decade with the frightening confusion and debilitation of Alzheimer’s Dementia, Lorena died peacefully Wednesday, July 28, 2010. She was born August 22, 1924, in Salt Lake City to Florence and Herbert Mason. She lived In Provo and Orem, Utah more than 56 years.

In her active life she was the loving companion and wife of Phil for more than 59 years. She served as his office manager during their fifty years of solo chiropractic practice. She contributed her time and talent to organizations serving not only as a member but as president of each of the following: Utah State Chapter of PEO, Provo PEO Chapter Z, American Chiropractic Auxiliary, Utah Chiropractic Auxiliary, Provo Chapter of Executive Women, Fortnighters, and Provo Service League. When Lorena completed her presidency of the ACA Auxiliary she accepted the chairmanship of the ACA‘s Exhibit Committee which she held for seven years travelling 5 or 6 times each year to other national associations and manning the Exhibit booth that dispensed information about chiropractic colleges and chiropractic health service.
On the home front, Lorena raised two daughters, Mim and Laura, and also help raised grandson, Phillip. She was active in the PTA, was home room mother for both girls, and was Brownie Scout leader for several years. She headed up the annual Girl Scout Cookie program in the Provo area several times and served for several years on the Diaconate Board of the Provo Community Church.
In October of 2007, Phil and Lorena moved to Santa Rosa, California to be close to daughter Laura and family. The family would like to thank the Staff at Villa Capri at Varenna and the Memorial Hospice of Santa Rosa for the kind care and comfort they rendered her during the final weeks.

She is survived by her husband Phil L. Aiken, DC (Ret), two daughters Mim Aiken and husband Richard Benavides of Arlington, TX; Laura Aiken Conners and husband, Donald Conners of Rohnert Park, CA; two grandsons, Phillip Dale Aiken of Duncanville, TX; and Stephen Patrick Conners of Santa Clara, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers.
