Passed away at home in Santa Rosa, CA at the age of 89 on June 12, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Elsie Maffia Hansen, adored father of Barbara Williams of Modesto, Diane Amos and her husband, Bill of Santa Rosa and Fredric Hansen and his wife, Anna of Santa Rosa. Cherished grandfather of seven and great grandfather of three. Dear brother of Myrna Sjoblom of Petaluma and the late Fred Hansen, Ervin Hansen, Clarence Hansen, Clark Hansen, Eileen Dodd, Joanne Ricci, Imogene Pounds and Mary Lou Wilson. Glenn is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law, Katie (John) Fomasi of Cotati, Minnie Corda, Martha (Al) Caletti, Genny (Clarence) Mazzetta, Alice (Gene) Cristani all of Petaluma, Pat (Carol) Maffia of Tulare and the late Leo Maffia, George Maffia and John Maffia. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Canada, Glenn was naturalized in New Guinea, in order to serve in the U.S. Army. He served in the Pacific Theatre in WWII. Glenn was a well known dairyman for over 43 years in Sonoma County. He was a member of St. Rose Parish, Italian Catholic Federation, Branch #150 of Cotati, Sonoma County Farm Bureau, Druids, SIRS and a former member of Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club. Glenn’s family also wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to his caregiver, Nora Guiterrez and to the Sutter AIM Nurses, especially Irma Martin. |
Family and friends are invited to attend the Rosary, Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 398 Tenth St., Santa Rosa, Ca. Family and friends are also invited to the Funeral Mass, Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Santa Rosa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from Noon to 5:00 p.m. at LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, 4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA. The family prefers memorials be made to Sutter VNA Hospice. |
