TAMAYO, JOSE – Entered into rest in Santa Rosa, CA, June 10, 2010. Jose was a compassionate husband, father, brother, father-in-law, grandfather and friend. Dearly beloved father of Carlos (Alayne) Tamayo of Santa Rosa, CA, Jose (Delia) Tamayo of Petaluma, CA, Willie (Darlene) Tamayo of Santa Rosa, CA, Michael (Lucy) of Windsor, CA and the late Bernie Tamayo. Loving father-in-law of Diane Tamayo of Omaha, NE. Adored grandfather of Sam, Andy, Jenny, Tony, Katie, Tomas, Daniel, Ramon, GinaLisa, AnnaMaria and Mary Jacqueline. Cherished great grandfather of Alexander Jose, Lauren, Liliana, Giana, Roree and Santana. Also survived by his sister, Xochitl Martinez Tamayo and numerous nieces and nephews in Mexico and Nebraska. “Grandpa, we will miss you. We promise to take the love you have given us and share it with everyone we know. You have touched and changed our lives in ways that are still unknown to us. Your spirit will live in each one of our hearts, forever”. A native of Mataula, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, age 86 years, and a proud naturalized U.S. Citizen. Jose and his late wife, Mary Rita, were the founders of La Tortilla Factory in Santa Rosa. In 2010, La Tortilla Factory celebrated its 33rd year in business. |
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the St. Rose Catholic Church (398-10th Street, Santa Rosa, CA, 95401). Interment; Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95405). LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) will provide visitation hours from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 13, 2010. A Vigil Service will commence at 6:00 P.M. in the main chapel. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Jose’s memory are preferred to the Social Advocates for Youth (S.A.Y.), 3440 Airway Drive; Suite “E”, Santa Rosa, CA, 95403 –or- to the charity of choice. |
