Passed away on May 3, 2010 in Santa Rosa. Jules Faoro was born in Pittsburg, KS on July 29, 1913. At the age of 11, he moved with his family to Santa Rosa, CA in the year of 1924. He went to Todd Grammar School until 1926 and then his family moved to Windsor, CA. He attended Windsor School and later he went to Healdsburg High School.
His family moved to Santa Rosa in Rincon Valley in 1930 and he worked for the Rincon Valley Store where he met Irene Baldi. Jules and Irene were married at St. Rose Church on Nov. 18, 1939 and then lived in San Francisco. When Irene became pregnant in 1940, they both desired to return back to Santa Rosa to be closer to their families.

As a carpenter, Jules was involved in the building of the Town and Country Shopping Center, Montgomery Village, and part of Coddingtown. He also worked on the Flamingo Hotel and the shopping center nearby. Jules assisted in the building of the Church of the Roses in 5 hours and 16 minutes and a house for Codding in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Jules retired in 1968.

Jules joined the Carpenter Union in 1941 and was a life member of 69 years. Jules joined the Rincon Valley Grange in 1944 and was a 65-year member. He served 17 years as master of the Rincon Valley Grange and 3 years as Master of Sonoma County Pomona Grange. He served over 25 years as Deputy Master of California State Grange.
Jules helped organize the Rincon Valley Fire District in 1947 and served over 20 years as a volunteer fireman.
He was also a member of the following organizations: the Sonoma County Museum, the Sonoma County Historical Society, the Friends of Kagoshima, and was a member of the Sonoma County Taxpayers Association since 1970 where he served as a Director for over 20 years.

Jules and Irene raised 3 daughters and 1 son: Laurette Tognetti (Rodney), Jeanne Behler (Sid), James Faoro (Lynne), and Elizabeth Finn (John). He was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Oscar Faoro, sister-in-law, Mary Baldi, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy, Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, 4321 Sonoma Hwy., Santa Rosa. A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Private Inurnment: Calvary Cemetery.
